All of us had dreams when we were growing up. Me, I wanted to be a world traveler and discover little-known islands and exotic lands across the globe. I also wanted to be a poet. I remember spending countless hours in bed with my mom eagerly sharing every detail of my “when I grow up” dream with her. I was blessed to have a mom who not only listened, she encouraged me as well.
What about you? What was your dream?
More importantly, did you achieve it? If not, why not? I have worked on fulfilling my dreams, but I have a long way to go. And let’s just be honest, life gets in the way.
Can you identify? As we grow older and start a life on our own, we have more responsibilities that can become so heavy, we tend to push our dreams and hopes in the background and enter survival mode. We settle.
This happens all too often. If this sounds like you, what can you do to dream again? Maybe your dreams aren’t the same as when you were a little boy or girl, but you still have them. Even though it may be a bit scary, take them out of their safe hiding place in the back of your heart and revive them.
And that’s when the mind-blowing change happens – little by little you will realize that within you is the power to not only revive your dreams but to make them a reality.
Don’t let life steal your dreams!
